The Borough Returning Officer notifies that an election will be held on Wednesday, April 24th, for the purpose of electing a Mayor. Nominations close on Wednesday, 17th inst. before noon. Messrs W. H. and V. A. Reed notify the public that they have commenced business in Foxton as painters, paperhangers, glaizers and house decorators. Estimates and specifications furnished and material and workmanship guaranteed. Picture-framing a specialty. Messrs Mounsey and Co. have received instructions from Mr R. J. Ranger, to sell at his residence, Norbiton Road, at I p.ra. on Friday, I2th inst., the whole of his household furniture and effects, particulars of which are advertised elsewhere in this issue. No reserve. Now that the colder days are here extra wraps are needed; the new “Throwover” sets have just been opened at the Bon Marche, Palmerston North, and are advertised today on our third page.*
