ENTERTAINMENTS.

LAND O’ TH’ SHAMROCK.

To-night the Taylor-Carrington new dramatic company will present the above named drama at the Town Hall for positively one night only, Irish drama is always a favourite bill-of-fare with Foxton playgoers, and the T. C. management assert that since the days of “The Shaughraun’’ no Irish play has been staged equal in any way to the “Land 0’ th’ Shamrock.’’ The humour of the piece is unforced, the situations and sensation scenes are convincing, whilst the characterisation is worthy of the great Boucicault himself. The company has been specially selected tor the performance of this particular play, so every part will be found suited to the performer playing it, and the result of the company’s efforts in support of their two talented principals is certain to meet with unqualified approval. We are requested to announce that the season is limited to one night only and the prices are fixed at family rates. PICTURE SHOW. A good selection of pictures is on the programme to be screened on Saturday night. “The Vicar of Wakefield,’' an old favourite in song and verse is sure to be a most interesting and popular drama. The longest film on the programme is “The Queen of Nineveh,’’ an intensely interesting drama of the olden times. “A Salutary Lesson’’ is a capital stoiy well pictured. And equally good is “Lily of the Tenements.’’ “Excursions across the Gorges Du Loup’’ is a film in which scenic lovers can enjoy their fill, as it is lull of beautiful pictures and places. “The Silk Moth” is a most interesting subject in natural history. “An Australian Gazette” will show us the recent happenings that have taken place in Australia and New Zealand, and will be quite an attraction. In the humorous line, “Babylus Inherits a Panther” is well calculated to put a big strain on thecacUruatoryorgans. “White Roses’’ is also a highly amusing comic. The whole programme is a good all round one, full of variety and absorbing interest.
