O’REGAN AND DIX V. FLAXMILLS’ EMPLOYEES’ UNION.
It will be remembered that some three years ago, a flax trammer, employed on the Moutoa swamp, died irom heart failure whilst engaged in loading flax and his widow brought an action for compensation, in which, however, judgment was given for defendant. The sequel to the above was a case iu the Magistrate's Court, Wellington, on Thursday, iu which O’Rigau and Dix, solicitors. sued the Mauawalu Flaxmills Ftmfloyees' ludustiial Union of Workers for 5s 3d. Mr C. R. Dix appeared for plaintiffs and Mr R. H. Dalhousie (president of the union; for defendants. Patrick J. O’Regan said he fought a compensation case ior the union in 1908 and the bill amounted to duce this to h a prompt settlement were made. lue account was never disputed , the debt was admitted. After hearing the evidence of P. T. Robinson, secretary of the Union, judgment was giveu for plaintiffs,
