BOWLING
The Manawatu Ferns, which were won by a rink from the local Club at Palmerston North on New Year’s Day, and subsequently lost to another local team, have again been secured by the first holders. The match was played on Saturday, and after a very interesting and hard-fought game, resulted in a win for the challengers by 3 points. The teams and scores were as under :
CHALLENGERS. HOLDERS. Spring Barber Whibley Speirs Clemett Petrie Rimmer (s) 23 Woods (s) 20 The Levin Club is holding a gaslight tournament on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, the prizes at which will be four gold medals lor the winners, and lour silver medals lor the runners-up. The Foxton Club will be represented at the tournament by three rinks, comprised of the following players : Messrs Stunnell, Rimmer, Petrie, Witchell, Spring, Whibley, Adams, Hopper, Clemett, Barber, Munro, and Green. The coach will leave the post office punctually at 5.15 o’clock.
