ENTERTAINMENTS.
PICTURE SHOW. . * . A tip top programme agamffor Saturday uigut. Tuis entertainment will consist of a very varied and interesting range of subjects. There will be a real good scenic film of “ Marvellous Melbourne ” showing a series of places and scenes of that beautiful city. “ Norwegian Waterfall,” and the ‘‘River Moskwa ” will be well worth seeing, ‘‘The Rough Rider’s Romance ” is an excellent western subject drama, that should not be missed. “ Winter Sports at Charmonix,” will show some novel and interesting sports. ‘‘The Slave of Carthage” is a great costume drama by the Altala. A very laughable comedy by the A.B. Company is entitled “ Priscilla’s Engagement Kiss.” There is also a very pretty comedy of “ The Roquet.” ‘‘Grandfather’s Forty Winks a screamingly funny trick comic is sure to please everybody. “Tea Goes Skating,” Tea’s terrible and wonderful attitude will keep the house in a constant whirl ol tun and excitement. This is a real good evening’s entertainment from start to finish. The want of something to do, or somewhere to go on Saturday night, has been a long felt want in Foxtou, no more dull evenings now, because everyone is at the Municipal Pictures enjoying themselves.
HUDDERSFIELD BELLRINGERS BAND. The visit of the above baud ou Thursday uext, December 7th, to Foxtou, should prove a great treat to residents ot the district. Champions in their art, the baud have had the honour of winning 13 contests out of 14, and now hold the title of Champions of Britain, which practically means the world. The baud has had the honour of appearing before the
late King Edward on two occasions, and he expressed his . appreciation of the magnificent/%, manner in which these Huddersfield working men have revived the oldest form of music the world knows. Besides playing popular airs the band's repertoire includes marches, hymn tunes and selections from the famous operas. After a remarkable run at the London Hippodrome the band were engaged by Messrs J. and N. Tait to tour Australia and New Zealand, and opened their tour at Christchurch like the famous Besies o’ the Barn, and so far, it is said, are meeting with great success. Assisting the band are several well known English artists, including Miss Eirlie, the charming young piauologuist, mimic and xylophonist ; Miss Lilian Bennett, the eminent soprano ; and Mr Geo. Campbell, the favourite humourist and xylophonist. Seats may be reserved at the Town Clerk’s office.
