Mr Brown reports having held well-attended meetings at Paraparaumu and Koputaroa. He speaks at Taikorea on Monday night, and at Foxton on the night prior to the poll.
Mr C. A. \V. Moncktou, Reform candidate, addressed 60 odd electors at Taikorea on Tuesday evening. The enthusiasm shown was extraordinary. Mr Moncktou spoke for an hour and a half, and at the conclusion was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. The electors present formed themselves into a working committee to assist in returning Mr Moncktou to Parliament. They also unanimously promised the caudiUaie a block vote.
Mr C. A. W. Monckton has spent the last tew days in visiting the flaxmills situated along the banks of the Manawatu River. He received a hearty welcome wherever he went, and many promises of support.
Mr C. A. W. Monckton met with a most cordial reception when he addressed the electors in the school house, Akatarawa, on Friday. His address was listened to with great attention, and he was loudly applauded. He also received a vote of thanks and confidence, and was invited to speak at Akatarawa again betore the elections.
