HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY’S SPRING SHOW.

Sweet peas, Mrs Boyes (Mr Newman’s prize): Mr Galland, Mr O. Robinson prize. Fruit, W. K. Riddle. Vegetables, Mr Bullard. Vegetables, best collection, Foxtou School. Dairy produce, Mrs Gower. Cookery, Mrs Rand. Home Industries, Mrs Gower. Decorative, Miss Newth. Fancy work, Mrs A. T. Walker (Feilding). Fancy work, girls, Miss M. Cameron (Shanuou). Amateur photography, Mr Gallaud. Decorative, children's classes, Miss Krica Chalmers. Decorated table. Miss Hope Mackie. Cookery, Miss Hope Mackie. Cottage garden, Mr D. Whibley (seven entries). Collection of black birds’ eggs, Master C. Robertson (Himalaugi) 1, Adolphus Sorenson (Himatangi) 2. Mr Gower’s special, Miss D. Hughes i. Arthur Thompson and Deslie McAlister paid at the rate of od per too.
Mr T. Henderson won the dead weight sheep guessing competition (45H1S), and Mrs Bullard the beau guessing competition. The door takings totalled £l2 3s 6d, tea rooms £6 ros qd, sweet stall £% 5s 3>^d.
The total number of entries were 540. Mrs C. Robinsou’s decorated table received the popular vote, Mrs Greig’s second. Special credit is due to Mesdames Seabury, Gibbs and W. Nye who were iu charge ot the tea rooms and to Mrs Woods and Miss Speiis who supervised the sweets stall.
