Train arrangements in connection with the Tedding races on November 29th and 30th are advertised in to-day’s issue. Messrs Durward and Co,, Ltd., Palmerston N., are specialising in blouses for holiday wear, for a few weeks. A perusal of their advertisement is advised. Messrs H. Andrew and S. B. Maiden are advertised to deliver addresses on No-License and National Prohibition in Wall’s Hall, on Monday evening next, at 8 o’clock. The annual report of the N.Z. Poultry Conference is now ready, and contains excellent articles on Fireless Brooders, Co-operation, Preparation of Table Poultry, Commercial Poultry. Chicken-raising, etc,, by the ablest writers. A copy posted on receipt of six penny stamps, to the Secretary, Box 588, Christchurch.
Now that the warm weather is! coming and tires are not so mucir required, it would be a saving of time and trouble for the housewife if she had the convenience of a spirit or kerosene stove. Collinson and Sun, Palmerston N., are advertising their large stock of kerosene and spirit lamps in this issue. A bargain offering at the beginning of the Season is an unusual but acceptable opportunity. In another column Messrs Collinson and Cunninghame direct attention to a special shirt blouse at a particularly low figure.
Shopping by post is now an everyday occasion with many ladies, and the wide ranges of summer dress linens now offered in the advertisement of C. M. Ross and Co., Pal merston JN., which we publish today, ought to bring many requests for the goods referred to.
