DISAPPEARANCE FROM TRAIN.

Invercargill, Nov. 6

There has been a mysterious disappearance from the second express, which brought the Premier to Invercargill to-night. Mr and Mrs Gibson and their tweuly-year-old daughter Dizzie were passengers from Dunedin. Ifizzie was known to have been on the train as far as Clinton, but she has not been seen since, though her absence was not reported till this side of Gore. The mother told a reporter who was on the train that the girl had said, ’“Mother, father’s had a drop of drink. I leel like jumping oh the train.” It was suggested that the girl might have left the train at Gore, though the parents state that she knew nobody there. A passenger says he knew the girl, and, in his opinion, she was not on the train when it reached Gore. Inquiries are being made and the line is being searched.
