STOCK REPORT.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Palmerston North, report:— At Himataugi on Monday we had an entry of 1000 sheep and over 700 head of cattle. Competition was brisk and all lines of sheep were sold. Cattle came forward in excess of advertised numbers and the capacity of the yards were taxed to the utmost, over 100 different lots being offered. The Barbers’ yearlings failed to find buyers although £2 10s was offered for the heifers and £3 5s for the steers but with this exception very little was turned out unsold. A keen demand existed for young dairy heifers to go to the bull and a very nice line of well grown good conditioned yearling heifers —Jersey Aryshire cross, offered on account of Mr R. Milligan of Carnarvon, elicited keen competition and were knocked down to Mr W. Devine at £5 is, a record for the district. Quotations. Sheep.—Fat ewes 15 to iSs 6d, store ewes 10s 8d to ns 2d, inferior hoggets £7 7s to £lO, medium ewe hoggets 12s 7d, wether hoggets 12s 6d to 12s rod. Cattle. —Cull yearlings 24s to 30s 6d, small yearlings 35s to £2 2s, yearling steers £2 is 6d, iS-mouths to 20-months steers £3 7 s to 15s 6d, 2-year steers £3 X 9 S to £4 13s, store bullocks £5 17s to £6 4s yearling heifers (small) £2 2s to £2 ns, yearling heifers (good) £2 19s to £3 ns and up to £5 is, 2-year empty heifers (inferior) £2 15s to 3s, 2-year (empty heifers £3 10s to £3 14s 6d, backward heifers in calf £3 los to £4, springing heifers 17s 6d to £6 2s 6d, backward cows in calf £3 13s to 1 os, springing cows £5 10s to £7, aged cows £2 is to £2 17s 6d, stere cows £3 3s to £3 15s, forward cows £3 19s to £4 7s, fat cows £5 16s to £6 12s, yearling bulls £2 12s 6d, to £3 ss, Jersey yearling bulls ,£4 to £6 6s, Jersey 2-year bulls £4 15s to £7 7s 7d, shorthorn bulls £4 to £5 ss. Pigs.—Weaners 10s to 14s, stores 20s.
