We have received the following further acknowledgment from Claude Wright, Hsq., General Secretary of Dr Baruardo’s Homes, under date September 20th : ‘ ‘ Thank you for the copies of your journal in which you have so kindly organised a collection in aid of the funds ol these Homes. Our official receipt w T as sent to you on the 31st August, for ,£32 10s, the amount which you remitted as a result of the appeals which you made for our work. I need hardly say how grateful we are for your kindly thought of the needs of the outcast and neglected children of the Mother Country. I am glad to be able to iulorm you that, as a result of the generous responses to our appeals in the press and elsewhere during the last few mouths, our council have decided to adhere to our charter, which is, and always has been, “no destitute child ever refused admission.” Two thousand two hundred and forty-three destitute children were admitted to the permanent benefits of the institutions last year. With renewed thanks to you and your readers for your splendid help, etc.”
