DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE.
Christchurch, October 21
Mrs Ellen Egan, aged 55 years, who resided with her sou, was found dead about 7 a.m. to-day in her home. At the inquest John Egan stated that his mother seemed in her usual health last night. Dr. W better, who was summoned to the house, and who had made a post mortem examination, stated that on his arrival Mrs Egan was already dead. He considered that death was due to heart failure from degeneration, accelerated by excessive indulgence in alcohol. A verdict to that effect was returned.
