AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT,

We have received the following letter from Dr. Baruardo’s Homes : ‘T have had the pleasure of receiving through the Bank of New Zealand the sum of ,£32 11s rod remitted by your instructions in aid ot the work of these Homes. Will you please accept with the enclosed official receipt my hearty thanks, and will you permit me to tender my grateful acknowledgment through you to all who have participated in this timely and helpful gift (for I gather that the amount is made up of contributions from readers of the Manawatu Herald). We have been feeling the financial pressure very keenly this year, and have at present 9,458 children under our care ; so that you will understand how welcome and how encouraging is the help that you have sent. —William Baker, Honorary Director.”
