STARR-BALDWIN COY.
MASONIC HATE TO-NIGHT,
Some novel items of particular merit were introduced to a
crowded audience at the Alhambra Theatre last evening, says the Evening Post. What appeared to be first in the estimation of the public was the turn of Starr and Leslie, who are experts in the manipulation of clubs. There is none of the stilted mechanical swinging of these instruments. Far horn it. Star and Leslie are artists in the juggling line. The surprise packet of the evening was the appearance of Madame Russell, whose rendering of Meyerbeer’s “ Robetto ” was of a highly dramatic order, and evoked enthusiastic plaudits. Another good item was the turn of Mora, the White Mahatma, in a weird act entitled ‘ ‘ Somnomaucy.” Another performer of great ability was the man of many mysteries, Dr Rowe, who leceived enthusiastic applause for his clever work. The Company appear in the Masonic Hall to-night, and should be accorded a bumper house.
