CRICKET.
A NEW CLUB FORMED
The meeting convened by Mr George Coley for the purpose of forming a new cricket club, held in the Manawatu Hotel last night, was iairly well attended. After some discussion, it was decided, on the motion of Mr Coley, seconded by Mr Redgrave, that a new club be formed, to be called the Awabou Cricket Club. About 20 names of intending members were handed in at the meeting. The subscription fee was fixed at five shillings. Messrs Coley and Redgrave were appointed as the Club’s delegates to attend the meeting of the Association to be held in the Family Hotel on Saturday evening next. Mr McKenzie was elected secretary pro. tern. The election of officers and other general business was left over for a meeting to be held to morrow evening, when all intending members are cordially invited to be present. The question of finance was brought up at the meeting, and subscriptions amounting to £7 7s were promised in the room.
