TENNIS.
The local club was fortunate in having such delightful weather on the opening day yesterday. There was a good attendance of spectators and players. A match was played between teams chosen by Messrs Jackson and Phillips, and proved an interesting contest as will be seen from the scores below. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies and much appreciated : men’s doubles. Jackson and Stevens 30 v. Phillips and Gabites 22, Fraser and Wilson 19 v.
