FOXTON LAWN TENNIS CLUB.
The annual meeting of the above was held on Tuesday night in the Council Chamber. There was a representative gathering present and Mr Jackson was voted to the chair. The annual report for the past season was read by Mr A. D. Clemett (chairman of committee) and adopted. The statement of receipts aud expenditure was submitted by the secretary aud adopted. The following new members were elected : —Misses Hodgson, Smith, Jamieson, M. Wanklyu, aud Mr Stephens. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—■ Patron, Mr F'ield ; President, the Mayor (Mr G. H. Stiles). VicePresidents, Rev. G. Y. Woodward, A. D. Clemett, Horn blow and O. Robinson ; Committee: Mrs Stewart, Misses Wanklyn, Smith, Stagpoole, H. Cook, Messrs Phillips, Gabites, Jackson, Fraser and Wilson; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr Stephens; Match Committee, Messrs Phillips, Fraser and Stephens; Delegate to Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association, Mr O’Leary ; Auditor, Mr A. J. Kellow.
On the motion of Messrs Clemett and Stephens a vote of thanks was passed to the retiring secretary for his past services to the Club.
The opening day for the new season was fixed for Wednesday, the 27th instant. Mr Clemett moved, seconded by Mr Gabites, that the Chairman of Committee and Secretary be impowered to sign all cheques on behalf of the Club. —Carried,
Voles of thanks to the outgoing Committee, the Chairman and to Mr Fraser for arranging the use of the Council Chamber were carried unanimously.
