THE BIG SHOW.
The twenty-sixth annual Show of the Manawatu and West Coast . Agricultural and Pastoral Association is set down for November xst, 2nd and 3rd, and is under the very distinguished patronage of His Excellency the Governor, Lord Islington. The show schedule to hand is a publication of 75 pages, comprising some 676 classes: ring events, riding, driving, leaping, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs, photography, needlework, drawing, modelling, wool classing, home industries, etc., are all accounted for in the list. There are others which would stretch out the list, and which we have not space to include, but we might mention the shoeing competition. Well carried out this is a most interesting event, and from what we remember of last year’s contest, was most successful. This year we see by the Show time-table that the exhibition halls are to open in the evening, so that visitors now need not have time hanging heavily on their hands in the evening. The secretary informs us that entries and applications for space are coming in rapidly, and we would remind readers that general entries close on October 6th, live stock October 13th, and other space 30th September. The, Association’s Horse Parade for entires takes place on 30th inst. Schedules may be had free on application to the secretary, Mr W. T. Penny, box 85, Palmerston North.
