CANADA’S LOYALTY.
Ottawa, Sept, xo
Decorations in honour of the visit of Sir Wilfred Laurler, Prime Minister, to Windsor, Ontario, included an Australian flag. This caused great excitement, the people thinking that the Union Jack with the Southern Cross was intended to forecast the Canadian Ensign under the reciprocity mixture of the Union Jack and the Stars ahd Stripes. A satisfactory explanation was given by Mr Bourassa, Leader of the Nationalists who assured the crowded demonstration that the creed of the Nationalists was not anti-British. Loyalty to Canada was first, and afterwards loyalty to the Mother Country. If Canada was attacked even by France, it was the duty of all loyal Canadians French and England to arm themselves. The speech caused a profound impression.
