GRAND NATIONAL MEETING. The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Grand National meeting opened in fine weather on Tuesday. The attendance was large and probably constituted a record for an opening day. The sum of ,£29,574 was passed through the totalisator, as against ,£20,406 on the corresponding day last year.
