MAORI GENEROSITY.

Taupo, July 31. A native named Honireri Whakarehu, on behalf of himself, his wife and nine members of his family, caused some sensation at the big Maori meeting al Waahi by presenting 130,988 acres for the purposes of maua (lor the general benefit of the Maori race) in various parts of the Taupo district. The block contains a large area of totara, hot and sulphur springs, and a great deal of first-class land and a large area of pumice country.
