ACCIDENT TO THE MAIN TRUNK EXPRESS.

Auckland, July 24. As the Main Trunk express from Wellington was shunting at Ohakune, owing to a mistake in the points it crashed into a standing train. Two carriages were telescoped and four others were damaged and had to be left behind. Five passengers were on the platform of one of the carriages which were telescoped. Three persons were hurt, but not seriously. The express arrived at Auckland two hours late.
