LIST NOW TOTALS £25 18s.

MAYOR CONTRIBUTES £lO

This morning we received five more donations to the Dr. Barnardc’s Home Fund —the handsome sum of £lO from his Worship the Mayor (G. H. Stiles, Esq..), two guineas from Mr Thos. Rimmer, one guinea from Mr Alex Rimmer, 10s, 5s and 2s 6d from anonymous donors, bringing the total amount subscribed to date up to £25 18s. The contributors, may be, will never know what good will come from their charitable gifts. If it is only the means of rescuing and uplifting one poor forsaken little waif they will be amply rewarded. We will keep the list open until next Thursday when possibly £3O will have been subscribed, The following have subscribed :

Mr Thos. Rimmer, in conversation with us this morning says he is personally acquainted with the late Dr. Barnardo’s brother, who is a retired medical man residing at Southport. He says this gentleman devotes his time to the cause of suffering humanity without fee or reward and is held in high esteem as a humanitarian. “The Greatest of These is Charity.”
