ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Auckland, July 3. Arthur John Stanfield, a remittance man, forty-seven years of age, died in the Mount Eden Gaol while on remand to get over the effects of a drinking bout. Deceased was well connected in the Old Country, and at one time practised as a solicitor in England. Auckland, July 3. A workman named William Jones was engaged in dismantling an old boarding-house in the city this afternoon, when a heavy case fell on him and killed him instantly. Deceased was about 55 years of age. Nelson, July 3. The body of Mrs Ana Borroman, aged 62, a resident of Cape Foulwind, was found floating in the harbour this afternoon. She had beeen staying in Nelson and was missed about 2.30 p.m., having failed to pay an expected visit to a relative. She leaves a grown-up family. Dunedin, July 3. The police have received advice that a man named Richard Terry, aged 86 years, residing at Kakapuaka, near Baldutha, committed suicide to-day by shooting himself.
