ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH.
CONFIRMATION SERVICE. A confirmation service was conducted at All Saints’ Church last night by the Bishop of Wellington (Right Rev. Dr Sprott). There was a congregation that filled the building, and 40 candidates were admitted to church membership. Hymns and metrical passages aopropriate to the occasion were sung, the choir leading under the couductorship of Mr T. Betty, with Miss Jeuks as organist. The Bishop, in his address to the candidates, based his remarks on the text, “ Continue steadfast in the fellowship of the apostles.” He reminded them that the church was a social society, in which Jesus Christ set forth the ideal life. Upon the older candidates his Eordship impressed the importance of their duty oi fellowship to the younger brethren. He spoke also of the individual life and its dependence on surrounding circumstances: each iudividval was dependent on the ether, and each influenced the lives .of others. A strong appeal was made for greater earnestness in churchgoiug. The great society, the Christian church, was the means of giving them the spirit of God.
After the address the Bishop sat in the episcopal chair before the altar, and the vicar presented the candidates, who were as follows : George Small Albert James Kellow Clive Walter Dudley Daniel Ellwood Leonard Stanley Alexander Clemett Seth Albert Strong Victor Carroll Betty Lionel Bertie Burston Albert John Wyeth Frederick Walter Huia Joseph Hadfield

Amen.” The service closed with the Benediction, pronounced by the Bishop, holding the pastoral staff.
