LIBEL ACTION.

HEADMASTER v. CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEE. Auckland, June 16. In the action for libel in which William Masson sued William Richardson, Chairman of the Maungatapere School Committee, claiming damages in respect of defamatory statements in a letter written to the Education Board by defendant, plaintiff being the headmaster of the school, the jury found a verdict for plaintiff on all issues and awarded lull damages claimed. The case occupied ten days, the question of costs for eight extra days being held over.
