AFFRONT TO CHINA.

WARSHIP EH ROUTE TO

MEXICO

Nkw York, June 10

Reports from El Paso, on the Mexican border, state that an order was recently issued for the deportation of 300 Chinamen from Mexico.

It is believed the Chinese attempted to gain an entrance into the United States.

The Chinese Government is demanding an indemnity of twelve million pesos (about ,£120,000) from Mexico in consequence of the slaughter of 300 Chinese subjects at Torreon, in Northern Mexico, in the middle of last month.

China is also demanding an apology from Mexico, and now has a warship en route ior Mexican waters.

The Federals abandoned Torreon without giving notice, and the ruffian element broke loose and started a massacre of the Chinese.

The incoming rebels aided the rioters, and the heads of the unfortunate Chinese were rolled in the streets, while the bodies were tied to horses’ tails.

Twenty-five Chinese were murdered at the Chinese Bank. The intervention of the foreigners in the town stayed the slaughter.
