MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.

monthly meeting. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held iu the Board’s office last night. Present: Messrs B. G. Gower (chairman), H. G. Hammond aud 0. R. Robinson. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs F. S. Easton aud W. S. Carter. The Clerk reported the 'amount to credit of loan account current at /no 10s lod, aud on fixed deposit /1000. Alter taking the accounts to be passed for payment at the present meeting there will be a balance of /1032 os 8d available on this account. The general account was in credit £S 14s id, and No. 3 account /120 7s at debit. Accounts amounting to £7% 10s 2d were passed for payment against loan account, /10 10s against general account and /186 2s fid against No. 3 account. The engineer’s report was read and adopted. The balance-sheet for the year ended March 31st, 1911, was submitted by the Clerk, aud approved. This showed the receipts on general account at /139 5s 2d, made up of rates /m os lod, contractors’ deposits /19, rent of office /8 13s 4d, and sundries ns. The expenditure totalled /13s 3s 7d, thus leaving a credit balance of /'i is jd. The chief items of expenditure were salaries and office expenses /82 12s 4d, rent of office /32 10s, contractors’ deposits / 10, aud printing aud advertising £7 5s fid. The loan account was in credit /1202 3s 4d. The receipts tor the year were balance at 31/3/10 /X 43 15s id, balance ot loan fiom Colonial treasurer /2,800 refund 9s, aud material sold £5 2s, giving a total 01 .£2,949 6s id. The expenditure totalled £1,747 2s yd, made up of new works maiu drain £BB2 12s id, connecting drains £442 18s 9d, engineer £175 10s id, hire of crane £155 18s 2d, timber £47 ns gd explosives, repairs, etc., £3l 7s sd, accident insurance £ 10 14s fid, and bank charges 10s. The statement of public debt showed the total debt to be £6162 15s 1 id. [The engineer’s report will he published iu next issue.]
