GUILD OF ST. GEORGE.
The Vicar of All Saints’ has just inaugurated into his parish a Communicants’ Guild, called the Guild of St. George. The object is to increase the spiritual life of the members of his congregation. There are four resolutions, and four prayers to help the members to keep the resolutions, but it is not necessary for any member to take all the resolutions. The first resolution refers to setting apart a portion of each day for prayer and the reading of Holy Scripture, the second to regular Communion at least once a month and on the great festivals ot the church, the third to take an active part in the work of the parish and to attend the services regularly, and the fourth asks for loyalty to the Church of England. The name of each member is entered into a register, and this is kept by the Vicar, who will always be in touch with those who join. Each year a spiritual letter will he sent out to every member, no matter in what part of the world the members or vicar may be. From time to time special services will be held, when addresses will be given by priests from other parishes. The aims of the Guild are to strengthen the spiritual life and to promote a true friendship among church people and especially to keep in touch with those recently confirmed. The Guild has a membership of nearly forty anij the Vicar hopes to reach zoo.
