WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD. TO THE ELECTORS OF PALMERSTON NORTH, FOXTON & DISTRICT. Ladies & gentlemen.— On the clay of the Municipal Elections you will be asked to vote for two members of the Wellington Harbour Board. As Palmerston N. is assured of one member, it is thought that the other should be selected from the residents of the districts outside. Personally, I am satisfied there will be no desire on the part of any fairminded elector to confine both 1 seats to the residents of Palmerston North. At a meeting of the representatives of Feilding Borough, Kiwitea, Manawatu, Pohangina, Oroua and Kairanga Counties, held on 31st March, it was decided to support my candidature for the second seat, leaving the representation of Palmerston North and surrounding districts in the capable hands of Mr Cohen. I am therefore emboldened to solicit your votes on the polling day. It is hardly necessary for me to say that I have seen considerable service on local bodies in this district, and have had a long and extensive connection with business and financial affairs. As a large importer and considerable owner of town and country property, I am interested in preventing the infliction of burdensome wharfage charges or the imposition of rates on country lands to provide for the upkeep of Wellington Harbour, while, if elected, I shall strongly oppose extravagance or unnecessary borrowing. I am lai'gely interested in the sheep-farming industry, and consequently may be depended on to see that the primary producers, who at present have no representative on the Board, shall have their interests carefully looked after. Should you do me the honour to elect me, in conjunction with one of the Palmerston North candidates, 1 shall endeavour to do my duty as a representative of the whole district. I have the honour to remain, Your obedient servant, JOHN G. COBBE. Feilding, 10th April, 1911. F. D. WHIBLEY. LAND, INSURANCE, AND GENERAL COMMISSION AGENT, FOXTON.
