HOLY WEEK. SPECIAL LANTERN SERVICES. On Wednesday next there will be a special service in All Saints’ Church at 7.30 p.m. The vicar will give a brief sketch of the passion and this will be illustrated by lantern slides worked by the Rev H. F. Wilson. The pictures are to be taken from the greatest modern painters and the subjects are as follows:— (I) Head of Christ, (2) Triumphal entry into Jerusalem, (3) j Christ washing the Disciples’ feet, (4) The Last Supper, (5) Agony in the Garden, (6) The Betrayal, (7) Trial before Caiaphas, (8) Denial of St. Peter (9) Trial before Pilate, (10) Scourging of Jesus, (11) Mocking by the Soldiers, (12) Christ sinking beneath the Cross, (13) The Crucifixion, (14) Christ dead upon the Cross. In addition to the pictures live hymns will be shown on the sheet for the congregation to sing Thursday—(Maundy Thursday), the Holy Communion will be celebrated at 7-30 a.ra. Good Friday—Matins and AntiCommunion at II a.m.; Three Hours .Meditation, 12 noon to 3 p.m.; Evensong and Address at 7.30 p.m. The Easter services will be advertised later. Auvt.
