COURT RETURNS.

The return of business transacted at the Magistrate’s Court, Foxton, during the quarter ended March 31st, show that the Magistrate presided at four sittings and Justices at fourteen. The number of cases tried by the S.M., was 66. The total amount sued for was 8s Sd and the total amount recovered 5s 4d. Two applications were heard, one order made, 63 plaints issued, five distress warrants and six judgment summonses. Three orders were made on judgment summonses, 85 summonses (local and foreign) served by the bailiff, and eleven warrants executed.

Thirty-two persons were apprehended or summoned, and the amount paid in fines and cos:s totalled ,£l6 9s.
