IRELAND.
London, March 12. The House of Commons rejected Lord Castlereagh’s motion to reduce the criminal estimates for Ireland as a protest against the prejudiced administration of the law. Sir R. Carson (Unionist) supported Mr Redmond and declared that a campaign was being engineered to show that Ireland was inhabited by uncivilised savages, fighting each other for the love of God. Rt. Hon. A. Birrell, Secretary for Ireland, protested against the attempt to show that Ireland was seething with crime.
