THOSE CORONATION MEDALS.

Christchurch, March 13

Reply to enquiries made by Mr T. E. Taylor, M.P. on behalf of local engravers as to the tender accepted for the supply of Coronation medals to be presented to the school children of the Dominion the Minister for Education stated that after consideration of all the circumstances the Government decided to accept the lowest tender which is for imported articles. The Trades and Labour Council have telegraphed to the Minister asking if this decision is final, and if so, if the Minister expects parents to allow their children to wear them and advertise to the world that New Zealand’s craftsmen are incapable of doing such work.
