LICENSED CARRIERS.
Yesterday morning there was a parade of licensed vehicles in front of the Council Chambers. Licenses and numbers were issued as follows: —W. Nye, six drays and one lorry, numbered 1 to 5 ; J. Senior, two drays, Nos. 6 and 7 ; H. Osborne, one, No. 8 ; O. Cook, one, No. 9 ; R. N. Speirs, one, No. 10 ; C. F. Johnstone, one, No. 11 ; J. F. Chalmers, one, No. 12 ; Hodgraan and Draper, one cart and one lorry, Nos. 13 and 14 ; Audresen, one cart and one express, Nos. 15 and 16. Passenger vehicles.—J. Wyeth, two coaches, No. 1 and 2 ; C. F. Johnston, one coach, No. 3 ; T. Gingell, one coach, No. 4 ; Hodgman and Draper, one coach and cue cab, Nos. 5 and 6 ; O. Cook, one brake, No. 7. Licensees have been notified that their names and numbers must be painted on the vehicles within seven days, and owners of all vehicles plying for hire without such notice after that date will be proceeded against.
