AUCKLAND FIRE VICTIMS.

Auckland, March 2. The inquest on the bodies of Hettie and Arthur Porteous, victims of the fire in Ponsonby road, was concluded to-day. A witness who was early on the scene stated that it was impossible for a man with boots on to keep on the roof of the verandah, as he would have gone right through. The coroner stated that there was no evidence of criminal intent. A verdict was returned that deceased met their death by burning, and there was no evidence, to show how the fire originated .
