HEMP MARKET. The High. Commissioner cabled to us at noon yesterday as follows : Hemp Market is quiet. Manila output, 26,000 bales. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Land Department, Palmerston N., report as follows : A better tone prevails, business being done free from the speculative element, and is generally on a very sound basis. Good land close to Palmerston North is selling at firm prices with an upward tendency. Sheep country is firm at current rates.
