CHRISTCHURCH SENSATION.
Christchurch, Yes terd ay There have been no fresh developments iu connection with the Cashel Street poisoning case. The police are continuing their inquiries to endeavour to discover if Mary Bradley purchased prussic acid recently. No trace of the woman’s hat has yet been found. This morning a wild rumour to the effect that two men had been arrested was circulated, but it was absolutely unfounded. The police are being bombarded with theories by amateur and private detectives. The latter are stated to be already hampering the police and detective force in its investigations by unwarranted and needless interference.
The police have also received the usual crop of letters from neurotic persons who say they dreamt all about the occurrence and give details which existed only iu their imaginative brains. It is almost certain that the inquest will be concluded on Friday. Sadler, proprietor of the hairdressing saloon, will then give evidence.
