BOWLING.
A rink of bowlers from Palmerston North visited Foxton on Saturday and defeated a local team by three points. Foxton had a good lead half way through the game but the visitors sticking to their task scored a well deserved victory by the above margin. PAI.MKRSTON I'OXTON. On Wednesday next Shannon are sending over two rinks, one to play for the Manawatu Ferns and the other will indulge in a game with another team selected from the local Club. Mr W. Petrie has been chosen to take Mr Woods place in the Fern team. The following is the drawing for second round of the bowls competition : Rimmer plays Woods Ross ~ Hennessy jnr. Speirs ~ Furrie Osborne ~ Hamer Stunnel a bye. Shannon is sending over three rinks to- morrow. One rink will concentrate its efforts in an attempt to wrest the ferns from the holders. Some good bowling should result, and it is hoped a large muster of local bowlers will put in an appearance. The Club is indebted to Mesdames Witchell, J. Robinson, and Miss Ross for supplying afternoon tea last Wednesday.
