THE WARATAH INQUIRY.
London, January 17. The depositions ot dock and shipping officials of Adelaide were read at the Waratah inquiry, and showed that the Waratah was seaworthy and her cargo was properly stowed. McDiarmid, the pilot, regarded the Waratah as a tender ship, but not to the extent of being unseaworthy. She had more top hamper than usual for her trim. The depositions of Durban witnesses showed that the vessel was upright when she left there. There was nothing to indicate that she was top heavy. A precis of the report of the Sabine’s search was read, and the inquiry then adjourned for the thirtieth time.
