FOXTON ATHLETIC CLUB.

A meeting of the Committee of the Foxton Athletic Club was held last night. Present: Messrs Dr. Adams (chairman), Healey, Boyes, Robinson, McCall, Imrie and Whibley (secretary). The question of date of annual sports meeting was discussed at some length. At the annual meeting of the Club it had been decided to hold the gathering on New Year's Day, but the committee found that this date was not at all suitable on account of the number of other gatherings on that day and certain local attractions. It had therefore been decided to leave the matter of deciding upon a date until after the holidays. The date finally decided upon last night was March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day). A committee, consisting of Messrs Dr. Adams, Robinson and Whibley, was set up to draw up a programme and submit same at a meeting of the general committee. The sub-committee will meet on Wednesday, the 25th instant, and a meeting of the general committee, to finally adopt the programme, will be held the following night. Messrs H. F. Gabites, A. D. Clemett, J. H. Gillies, A. Cowie, and S. Wanklyn were elected to fill five vacancies on the committee. Several minor matters were also arranged and the meeting terminated.
