BOROUGH FINANCES.

At Monday night’s Council meeting the Borough Treasurer (Mr A. Fraser) reported as follows:—“I beg to report having banked since the last monthly meeting ,£9B 6s 6d to the credit of the district fund account, and £5 to the credit of the cemetery account, and there has also been paid into the gas loan account the sum of ,£II,OOO by the Australian Mutual Provident Society in exchange for the debentures issued by the Council. The bank balances that day were : District fund account, £224 13s nd at debit; cemetery account, ,£47 2s 6d at credit; and gas loan account, ,£1839 os yd at credit. The separate accounts in credit are: Gas works account, ,£1533 9s xod; sanitation account, £49 15s 8d ; and cemetery account, £23 13s. The accounts at debit are: Genera! account, £7O ns 8d ; library account, £ls i4s 3d ; and reserves account ,£l3 12s od.”
