ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Hawkra, Dec, 28. The seventeen-months’ old child ot W. T. Wells, settler, Manaia, was missed for a lew minutes, and was found drowned in a dam. At the inquest a verdict of accidentally drowned was returned, the circumstances showing that no blame was attachable to anyone. Tk KuiTl, Dec. _>B. Joseph kind, aged 32, a farm labourer, employed .at Tokirima, Ohura, was found in a dying condition outside his wbare on Monday night, with a discharged pea rifle lying beside him. There was a small wound over the heart, and death had occurred within a short period. He was removed to a private hospital when it was fouud that his internal injuries were such as to preclude any hops* of recovery. The patient later on was removed to the accident ward at the Sanatorium, where he died about uoou on Monday.
