If youths joined and employed old soldiers to train them, then “God help Birrell aud the Nationalists!” Paris, Dec. 27. The newspaper Rappees declared that the Hon. D. Lloyd George’s interview by Le Matin is equal to a diplomatic act. The silence of England and France for some months regarding the entente was attributed to changes of the intentions of British diplomacy, but Mr Lloyd George had in his statement ended the uncertainty regarding the matter. -h The newspaper Humanite publishes a telegram from the Hon. D. Lloyd George stating that while not disputing the general sense of the interview with the paper, he thought that if it had been submitted to him he would have modified its form and substance.
