FOXTON RACING CLUB.

A meeting of Committee of the above was held last night. Present Messrs W. Barber (chairman), G. Coley, O. Robinson, C. Robinson, H. Witchell, F. Jenks, E. Ball, Dr Mandl, and the Secretary. Apologies were received from Messrs T. Rimmer and C. Hunt.

Proposed by Mr G. Coley, and seconded by Mr E. Ball, that Mr C. G. Hammond’s resignation as steward be accepted with regret. J Proposed by Dr Mandl and \ seconded by Mr G. Coley that a special meeting be held on Thursday by request of the Wanganui Metropolitan Club to make enquiries re recent betting case. Proposed by Mr E. Ball and seconded by Mr G. Coley, that Mr Wyeth’s tender for outside and inside gates be accepted, subject to guarantee being tenderered.

Several accounts were passed for payment and the following new members elected: Dr Peach, Messrs Alex. Ross, F. Spiers and James Bowe.

A vote ot thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
