MOUTOA SCHOOL GARDEN PLOTS.

Yesterday, Mr R. E. Gray judged the garden plots at the Moutoa School for prizes awarded by the Foxton Horticultural Society. The results were as follows : Boys :—Robert Coker and Leslie Pigotl 1, Virgil Edwards and Tom Ropoama 2, Fred Dudson and Stanly Newth 3. Girls : —Ruby Dudson and Harriet Coley 1, Ivy Dudson and Helen Pigott 2, Effie Newth and Essie Carroll 3.

A few complimentary and encouraging remarks were made by Mr and Mrs Gray to the children, which were suitably acknowledged by the headteacher, Mr Galland, and cheers were given for the judge. Subsequently the President and Secretary ot the Society (Messrs Alex. Speirs and H. C. Patterson) and the Judge were entertained at afternoon tea. The garden plots were very creditably commented upon by the visitors.
