DRUIDS’ LODGE.
The half-yearly election and installation of officers of the local Druids’ Lodge was held last night. There was a large attendance of local members, as well as visiting brethren from Otaki, Levin and Shannon. The visitors included Bro. W. Hartill, of Otaki, the District President for Number 3 District of New Zealand. The balance-sheet for the past half-year was submitted, which showed that the Lodge was making very satisfactory progress. It had only been in existence for two years and three months, and the progress made during that time was better than any other lodge in the district. The membership was 71, and the accumulated funds amounted to \^ißßi2S. < The District President, Bro. W, Harthill, of Otaki, installed the following officers for the ensuing term:—A.D., Bro- E. Healey ; V.A., Bro. J, McKnight; 1.G., Bro. E. Martin; 0.G., Bro. J. Hurst; A.D.8., Fames and W. Currie; V.A.B-, Bro. C. Edwards and C. Linley; auditor, Bro. J. McKnight. Bro. Chaplain, P.A., of Lodge Horowhenua, Levin, officiated as master of ceremonies. Bro. F. Woods, P.A., was elected as delegate to attend the biennial conference to be held at Auckland, commencing on 6th February. At the conclusion of the business, a social was held at which a number of songs and recitations were given By* local and visiting brethren. After partaking of supper the function was brought to a close just before mid-night by the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” ________
