Ashburton, Dec. 5. This afternoon a seven-year-old daughter of Arthur Stewart, of Hinds, was accidentally run over by an iron roller on which she had been tiding and was killed instantaneously. Auckland, Dec. 5. Archie Myers, aged thirty-two, a married man, living at Devonport, died this morning after taking what was supposed to be a sedlitz powder. After swallowing the power Myers said it was bitter. Symptoms of strychnine poisoning ensued. A doctor attended, but Myers died two hours later. Gisborne, Dec. 5. Myrtle Jane Johnson, aged eighteen months, daughter ol a Borough Council employee, died as the result of drinking carbolic oil, which had been left on a table in a saucer to keep flies away.
