BOWLING.

The formal opening of the local bowling green will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 and not 3 o’clock as previously notified by the Mayor. The wives of the members will provide afternoon tea and the public are cordially invited to be present. A number of visitors are expected from neighbouring clubs. A most enjoyable outing is anticipated. The caretaker, Mr Spirng, is leaving no stone unturned to have the green in apple pie order. It will require a lot of playing on before the bowls take their normal running. At present it requires a good deal of force to propel the bowls in order to play a long head. Two rinks skipped respectively by Messrs Stunuell and Witchell played a very interesting game on Saturday last. The latter won by 19 to 13.
