FIVE YEARS FOR PERJURY.

Auckland, November 25. At the Supreme Court to-day Harry Fyfe, an ex-man-o’wars-man, convicted of perjury, came up for sentence. Mr Justice Cooper said that perjury in this case was of a black and cruel character. Prisoner had abused the hospitality of Mrs Kehoe by giving false information to her husband with the object of blackening her character and obtaining money from herself and her husband. There could be no extenuating circumstances in such a case. Prisoner was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment.
